Nazarene Ministries
The Church of the Nazarene in Australia runs many ongoing ministries. Some such as NazCare, NTC, SDMI, NMI and NYI operate on a national level, others at a district level, and many more on a per-church basis.
NazCare
NazCare is a resource development partner of the Church of the Nazarene's Nazarene Compassionate Ministries. NazCare provides a framework of support for community development, humanitarian aid, relief projects in Australia, the Asia Pacific region, as well as globally. At this point in time all funds donated go directly to those in need of support since administration and other related costs are resourced via other means.
NazCare is the aid and development arm of the Church of the Nazarene in Australia. Our objective is to enable our local faith communities to respond holistically to the needs of their community. Our priority is always to support the local church’s response to those affected by disasters or other needs. We encourage and facilitate the involvement of local churches in that compassionate response, through volunteers, donations, material assistance, as well as prayer, which we believe is a critical foundation for all the work we do. It is our desire for our efforts to be done in collaboration with existing service/support, Govt and non-Govt agencies, faith-based or secular, wherever practically possible.
Nazarene Theological College (NTC)
The Nazarene Theological College (NTC) is located in the Brisbane suburb of Thornlands, and has been preparing people for Christian service for over fifty years. Their mission is to serve the churches and their people as they prepare for ministries in our rapidly changing world.
Nazarene Theological College (NTC) provides high-quality, accredited theological education that prepares men and women for life and sustained ministry in an ever-changing world.
Whether you're seeking to deepen your faith or studying for a ministry career, or are an emerging or mature student, we are open to everyone and offer a range of flexible courses that can be personalised to suit your education/life balance.
Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International (SDMI)
While this does include traditional Sunday School classes for children, it is by no means limited to this. We value discipleship of and Biblical teaching to people of all ages, from preschool to elderly.
The mission of SDMI is to carry out the Great Commission to children, youth, and adults in preparation for a lifetime of being and making Christlike disciples in the nations.
The purposes of SDM are to be a people of prayer, engaged in the Word, making Christlike disciples, and to teach the Word of God to children, youth, and adults so that they are saved, sanctified wholly, and maturing in Christian experience that results in a life of compassion, evangelism, Christian education, and disciple making.
Nazarene Youth International (NYI)
Nazarene Youth International (NYI), is the youth ministry of the Church of the Nazarene. We exist because the Church of the Nazarene believes that young people are an integral part of the Church. Because of that belief NYI is committed to leading young people into a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ and to facilitate their growth as disciples for Christian service.
In NYI, we focus on the three core strategies of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development. More commonly, we refer to these as “BE, DO, and GO.”
These are our message and mission. Everything we do in NYI is coloured by Be, Do, and Go, and everything we do should flow out of our focus on evangelism, discipleship, and leadership development.
Nazarene Missions International (NMI)
Nazarene Missions International (NMI) is the organization for mobilizing the local church in missions in the Church of the Nazarene and the denomination’s representative for missions on the district and in the local church.
The purpose of NMI is to mobilize the church in mission through praying, discipling, giving, and educating. It aims to encourage people to pray for all efforts of world evangelization, to inform people of the world's needs and what the church is doing to meet those needs, to challenge children and youth to learn about and participate in the mission of the church, and to raise funds for mission outreach.
